For many years tourists from the North of England and the Midlands have almost always used Manchester airport if they were traveling overseas due to the lack of alternatives and greater choice of locations. Whilst Manchester airport still accounts for over 50% of the visitors there is no doubt that the other airports are getting up fast.
While Manchester airport is still developing its overall percentage of the Northern industry has shrunk from 66.3% to 53.9% whilst East Midlands in specific has grown from just 6.4% to 14.3%.
There is no question that customers prefer to use their local airport and as a normal traveler from all these airports our first option would always be East Midlands implemented by Birmingham then Manchester with Leeds a faraway fourth due to its poor location.
My causes for choosing East Midlands and Birmingham airport over Manchester provided the same choice of destinations are available are as follows -
Shorter traveling range to the airport, which is especially appreciated on the come back journey when you are tired and just, wants to get home.
Simpler to find your way around the airport which tend to be less congested.
If travelling from Manchester airport and due to timings we may take a Manchester airport hotel choice which is more expense.
I have discovered airport parking fees to be usually cheaper than parking at Manchester airport.
On top of cheaper airport car parking, less traveling costs.
General it just seems a lot less stressful experience.
